The decision to implement this new tax will be made by local Councillors taken from Liberal Democrat and Labour groups leading Cambridgeshire County Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council, and Cambridge City Council. It is therefore vital that your local Councillors understand your views and pass them on to those leading their authorities.
If you have five minutes, please consider writing to your local councillor. You can find your local councillor via the links below:

Suggested letter
Every letter should be different and reflect your personal views. If you are unsure about how to format your letter, please feel free to use this suggested template:
Dear Councillor,
I am a resident affected by the Greater Cambridge Partnership's proposals to charge drivers £5 to enter, leave or move within Cambridge City. I urge you and your colleagues to scrutinise the evidence base. I am writing to ask you, your Council's leader and your Council's representative on the GCP Board to abandon these plans for a congestion charge.
*** GIVE YOUR REASONS HERE, OR DELETE AS APPROPRIATE*
As my elected representative, I urge you to listen to your local residents and businesses who are demanding a rethink of these proposals. The GCP has been given precious taxpayers’ money to make a real and positive change in this area - it must be spent wisely and with the backing of the people you are elected to represent. These plans do not do either of these things.
It is in your hands to change course before it is too late. Please, do not let your Council continue down this path.
Yours sincerely,
